This one-hour return trip takes you from Queenstown to the charming and historic gold-mining town of Arrowtown. The tour begins by travelling around the shores of the picturesque Lake Hayes before arriving in Arrowtown. Our Historic Pub tour will take you back in time to experience the gold rush era of Central Otago. On the tour, you will visit three pubs in the Central Otago region: Cardrona Hotel, Gibbston Tavern and Luggate Hotel. Our first stop is\u00a0Cardrona Hotel<\/strong>,\u00a0one of NZ\u2019s oldest hotels built in 1863. Its icon fa\u00e7ade is famous in NZ for advertising the great southern beer \u2013 Speights.\u00a0The next stop is the Gibbston Tavern<\/strong>, originally built in the 1860s. Sadly, the tavern burned down in 1912 and was not rebuilt until 2012. Located on the original site its\u2019 unique building is made from shipping containers adorned with historic memorabilia. Our final stop is the\u00a0Luggate Hotel<\/strong>\u00a0established in 1867. It is truly a local pub with high country hospitality at its best. Make sure you check out the handles on the beer taps!<\/p>
